Key Directives for the Summer Season:
Field Engagement: Stressed the importance of direct communication with citizens in the field and conducting periodic surveys during water distribution cycles to ensure service quality and address technical imbalances.
Infrastructure Maintenance: Urgent handling of pipe bursts and sewage issues to ensure the steady arrival of water supplies.
Decentralization: Officials were urged to grant employees the necessary powers to complete tasks and process transactions without referring back to the central administration, thereby accelerating service delivery.
"Hidden Shopper" Monitoring: The Minister noted that "Hidden Shoppers" are conducting field tours to ensure government employees adhere to instructions and provide a positive image of public service.
Strategic Goals and Resource Protection:
Abu al-Saud highlighted ongoing efforts to reduce water loss (Non-Revenue Water), secure new water sources, and advance national projects to achieve water security. He underscored that:
Reducing water loss directly contributes to providing additional quantities for citizens.
Legal Action: Tough measures and deterrent legal actions will be taken against those who commit violations or illegal "water theft" to protect public interests.
Digital Transformation: The continuous development of electronic services is vital to ensure efficiency and accessibility around the clock.
The Minister concluded by praising the efforts of water sector employees in mitigating water scarcity. He called on the public to understand the current water conditions, cooperate with field teams, and report any observations or complaints via the Unified Complaints Center at 117116.
