AMMAN — The National Campaign for Defending Students' Rights, in cooperation
with university students who applied to benefit from grants and loans,
organized a sit-in on Thursday in front of the Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research building to demand that financial aid applicants be
included in the
Student Support Fund.

Students at
the sit-in told Jo24 that the ministry “did not include all applicants who met
the criteria as , under the pretext that the financial
allocations were not available”.
Some students,
they said, have been denied grants and loans despite the fact that their
families are low-income.
Participants
in the sit-in raised banners emphasizing their right to education, with some
signs reading: "education is also for the poor". The students also
delivered a letter outlining their demands to the ministry.
