In an official statement, the Ministry said that traffic studies confirmed a reduction in congestion along this vital corridor, which previously suffered from traffic overlap between visitors to the commercial area and vehicles heading to Queen Alia International Airport.

The project included the construction of a 400-meter-long service lane with a width ranging between 9 to 11 meters, starting from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs exit to the Manaseer fuel station. Work involved leveling, excavation, milling old asphalt layers, applying new pavement, and installing a 50 cm-wide median.

Additionally, part of the main Airport Road was expanded with an extra lane and shoulder, currently being equipped with road markings and reflectors. A 100-meter acceleration lane was also added, extending from the Manaseer station exit towards the Marj Al-Hamam bridge.

The Ministry is also working on ramps to connect the service road leading to the Dhuhair area with the main road, ensuring a safe and smooth traffic connection.

Safety enhancements were emphasized, with the installation of directional and warning signs along the new service lane.

In response to concerns raised by some shop and mall owners about the project's impact on business activity, Ministry spokesperson Omar Al-Muharmeh affirmed that the new service lane includes well-designed entrances and exits for the commercial zone and fuel station, stating that "public interest takes precedence over private."

He added that the Traffic Department of the Public Security Directorate has observed a clear improvement in traffic flow, and expects commercial activity in the area to gradually return to normal as drivers become accustomed to the new route.
