Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi met in Abu Dhabi on Monday evening with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed regional developments, particularly the recent Iranian attacks targeting Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, and their implications for regional and international security, maritime safety, energy supplies, and the global economy.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah strongly condemned these attacks, describing them as a clear violation of state sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter.
Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with the UAE in all measures it takes to defend its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens and residents. Sheikh Abdullah, in turn, emphasized the UAE’s full solidarity with Jordan against the Iranian attacks.
The ministers also discussed developments following the Islamabad meeting and the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, stressing the importance of enhancing collective international action to establish lasting peace and security in the region, address long-standing sources of tension, and support economic development and prosperity.
They further reviewed the situation in Gaza, emphasizing the need to implement all aspects of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza and to strengthen humanitarian efforts to meet the needs of the population.
They also stressed the importance of halting the deterioration in the occupied West Bank and stopping all illegal Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the deep-rooted and historic brotherly ties between Jordan and the UAE, and their commitment to strengthening cooperation across various sectors in a way that serves their shared development priorities and mutual interests, benefiting both nations.
The two ministers emphasized the continuation of coordination, consultation, and cooperation to enhance regional security and stability and address common challenges.
