Rotary concludes 1st phase of UNRWA school project

Press Release — The Rotary Club of Amman-Petra has completed the first phase of its Water and Sanitation Project at UNRWA schools, having concluded the rehabilitation of the drinking water system of Marka Elementary and Preparatory Boys School, according to a press statement. اضافة اعلان

Marka school is one of 21 schools targeted by the club, which delivered and installed new water tanks and rehabilitated the drinking water piping, taps, and fountains. Hygiene training was also provided to students and teachers with the help of the Royal Health Awareness Society.

The projects committee worked for over a year to implement the project; it coordinated with the UNRWA management and technical teams to ensure the best implementation and outcomes.



Having “water, sanitation, and hygiene” as one of the main areas of focus of Rotary. Petra Club will start working on a new global grant to rehabilitate the water system for another cohort of schools; it already submitted a proposal to do one with the district grant.
