The director of Ramtha Government Hospital has rejected online reports that part of a ceiling collapsed onto a woman during childbirth, saying a suspended ceiling tile fell inside a room's bathroom during maintenance work and struck no one.

Abdulaziz Al-Dhiabat said the tile measured roughly one metre by one metre and came down while crews were carrying out maintenance across several floors. Staff dismantled what remained of the panel immediately and inspected the site for further damage or hazards.
Al-Dhiabat visited the patient himself to check on her condition. She told him she was unhurt and that the noise of the falling tile had frightened her, he said. The woman had been admitted to give birth, and her care continued as normal.
Patient and staff safety is a priority at the hospital, Al-Dhiabat said, adding that maintenance follows established procedures designed to keep facilities safe.
He called for accuracy in reporting incidents of this kind, arguing that describing what happened as a ceiling collapsing on a patient during childbirth does not match what took place.
