Jordan’s Ministry of Health has relocated eight specialized clinics to the former emergency department at Prince Hamzah Hospital after renovating and equipping the facility, Health Minister Ibrahim Al-Badour said Thursday.

The move follows the transfer of ambulance and emergency services to the Amman Field Hospital.
Al-Badour said the new facility has been equipped with four pharmacy windows, a medical records and billing unit, a radiology unit, a CT scanner and a laboratory, allowing patients to complete procedures and access diagnostic services and medications at a single location.
The relocated clinics cover general surgery, neurosurgery and spine surgery, vascular surgery, fractures, orthopedic surgery, thoracic surgery, pediatric orthopedics and vascular medicine.
The minister said relocating the clinics and establishing pharmacy windows at the new site aims to reduce overcrowding in outpatient departments, improve patient flow and shorten waiting times. The move is also intended to speed up patient examinations and medical procedures while easing pressure on the main pharmacy in the outpatient building.
Al-Badour said the renovation and repurposing of the former emergency department to serve specialized clinics was carried out under the directives of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, with the aim of making better use of healthcare facilities and improving services for patients.
He added that the move is part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to reorganize services and make more effective use of available space and infrastructure at government hospitals, in order to meet patients’ needs and improve the healthcare service environment.
