The campaign delivered emergency assistance to 30 female-headed households, including food parcels, fuel vouchers, scholarships, and support for girls to help them establish high-quality productive income-generating projects. Her Royal Highness also distributed gifts, toys, and winter clothing to a number of orphaned children.
During the distribution ceremony at the Princess Basma Development Center in Ma’an, attended by JOHUD Executive Director Farah Al-Dagestani and Ma’an Governor Khaled Al-Hajjaj, Princess Basma expressed pride in the ability of Jordanian women to create innovative, sustainable productive projects that provide a steady source of income for themselves and their families.
She noted that home-based productive projects are a pioneering idea that enables Jordanian women to engage indirectly in the labor market, contributing to economic development and reducing unemployment amid limited job opportunities.
Her Royal Highness affirmed the Al-Birr wal-Ihsan Campaign’s commitment, in cooperation with its partners, to ensuring the success and sustainability of such projects by equipping women with the skills needed for management and marketing.
She also praised Jordanian women’s determination to contribute to the development process, confront economic challenges, and improve their living and economic conditions, stressing that the campaign’s support for these projects is a message of appreciation for women and pride in their role in society and their contribution to achieving sustainable development.
At the center’s Innovation Room, Princess Basma met with a group of youth who participated in a training program on the safe and responsible use of social media and the use of artificial intelligence in digital content creation. She also met participants in the initiatives “My Colors Are My Story,” which trains adolescents to harness art as a means of creativity and self-expression, and “Healthy Lifestyle,” which raises awareness about obesity and chronic diseases.
The “Healthy Lifestyle” initiative seeks to guide individuals toward adopting a healthy and balanced way of life through awareness programs and practical applications implemented in a supportive environment, aiming to improve dietary habits and increase awareness of the importance of physical activity and practicing various sports.
During a dialogue with the participating youth, Her Royal Highness listened to presentations on these initiatives and their objectives, underscoring the importance of channeling young people’s energies toward innovative initiatives that help address many social issues and protect society from their effects.
Princess Basma commended these initiatives and those leading them, highlighting the role of JOHUD’s development centers in providing a conducive environment for youth to develop their ideas, build their capacities and skills, and enhance their role in serving their communities.
Earlier, Her Royal Highness listened to a briefing on the interventions that the Al-Birr wal-Ihsan Campaign is implementing in the region through various programs and initiatives that meet the needs of local communities.
