Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Lebanese President General Michel Aoun, reaffirming Jordan’s support for Lebanon, its security, stability, and sovereignty, as well as the significant efforts being made to build its institutions.

The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Baabda on Thursday morning. In response, President Aoun conveyed his greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah II, expressing appreciation for the support Jordan provides to Lebanon under the King’s leadership across various fields.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the close fraternal relations between the two countries and discussed ways to strengthen and develop them across multiple sectors, particularly in light of the signing of 21 agreements between Jordan and Lebanon yesterday following the resumption of the work of the Joint Higher Committee.
The discussions also covered regional developments, with both sides emphasizing a shared stance on the Palestinian issue, the necessity of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza, and restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them establishing a Palestinian state based on the two-state solution. The meeting further highlighted that Syria’s security and stability are in the interest of the region and both brotherly countries, particularly for completing joint projects.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Abdul Latif Al-Najdawi, Jordan’s Ambassador to Lebanon Walid Al-Hadid, and Lebanese Minister of Transport and Public Works / Chief of the Prime Minister’s Honorary Mission, Faiz Rasamni. — (Petra)
