The Parliamentary Administrative Committee, chaired by MP Khalifa Al-Diyat, continued its discussion of the draft Local Administration Law for the year 2026 and approved several of its articles during a meeting held as part of a series dedicated to completing its deliberation ahead of its constitutional pathway.

Al-Diyat stated that the committee will continue to hold further meetings to review and approve the remaining articles of the draft law, emphasizing its commitment to producing legislation that aligns with the requirements of local administration development.
He noted that the draft law contributes to developing municipal work and strengthening the developmental role of municipalities, which positively impacts the quality of services provided to citizens.
Al-Diyat affirmed that the amendments introduced by the committee to the draft law reinforce the mayor's role, pointing out that the provisions of the draft do not infringe upon the mayor's powers and do not differ in this aspect from the current law in force.
For their part, MPs Naseem Al-Abbadi, Hayel Ayyash, Wisam Al-Rubeihat, Suleiman Al-Zaben, Ahmad Al-Alemat, Ayatullah Freihat, Mohammad Salameh Al-Ghuwairi, and Taiseer Al-Orabi submitted several observations and proposals aimed at refining the draft law to ensure its development and the achievement of its intended objectives.
