The Ministry of Water and Irrigation has uncovered several violations affecting water resources, including an illegal well in Jerash supplying tourist chalets, unauthorized interference with the Mafraq-Irbid-Jerash-Ajloun 900mm water transmission line for filling illegal tankers in Mafraq, and an illegal excavator digging an unauthorized well in Karak, as part of ongoing inspection campaigns under the “Water Resources Control Enforcement” initiative.

According to a ministry statement on Monday, authorities acted on information regarding the illegal well in Jerash supplying tourist chalets. The site was raided, the well was filled in, violations were documented, and the case was referred to the public prosecution.
In the Umm Al-Lulu area of Mafraq, unauthorized use of the water transmission line supplying Irbid, Jerash, and Ajloun for filling illegal tankers was detected. The pipeline was disconnected, violations documented, and the case referred to the public prosecution.
In Zahoum, Karak, an illegal excavator was caught digging an unauthorized well. The well was filled in, violations documented, and the case referred to the judiciary.
