The Ministry of Labor announced that it has dealt with 31 labor disputes since the beginning of 2025 up to the end of August. All disputes were resolved according to the dispute resolution stages outlined in the Labor Law, except for one case still under process and another concluded in the Labor Court.

Adnan Al-Dahamsha, Director of the Labor Relations Department at the Ministry, told the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) that the ministry supervised the signing of 29 collective labor agreements, resulting from cooperation between private sector institutions and companies with labor unions to benefit workers by improving their employment conditions.
He added that approximately 218,000 workers benefited from the enhanced employment conditions stipulated in the collective agreements supervised by the ministry. These workers are employed across various sectors, including garments and textiles, private education, public services and liberal professions, information technology, electricity, petrochemicals, and other sectors.
Al-Dahamsha explained that labor disputes go through four stages under the Labor Law to reach resolution and reconcile between employers and employees in the private sector. The first stage involves the Ministry’s Mediation Officer. If no resolution is reached, the dispute moves to the second stage, where the Minister intervenes. If still unresolved, it proceeds to the third stage—the Mediation Council, chaired by the Ministry. The final stage for resolving any labor dispute is the Labor Court. —(Petra)
