Minister of Education: Plan to Gradually Phase Out "Contract-Based" (Additional) Teaching Within 3 to 4 Years

The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Azmi Mahafzah, stated that the appointment of "Additional Education" (contractual) teachers is done either to fill an actual vacancy or as a temporary substitute in cases such as leaves of absence or sick leave for permanent teachers.اضافة اعلان

During a parliamentary oversight session on Wednesday, Mahafzah explained that the Ministry, based on the Prime Minister's directives, is currently preparing a study to establish a mechanism for addressing the "Additional Education" file. This will be achieved by gradually increasing the number of annual permanent vacancies over a period of 3 to 4 years.

He further clarified that the goal of this step is to completely terminate the "Additional Education" system. The study will be discussed with the General Budget Department and the Ministry of Finance to allocate the necessary funds for its implementation.
