Khairy lauds King's stances in support of Palestinian people

AMMAN— The Palestinian Ambassador to Jordan, Atallah Khairy, valued His Majesty King Abdullah II’s "fixed, unaltered and supportive" stances for the Palestinian people and their just and legitimate rights, foremost is the right to establish their independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty on June 4, 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. اضافة اعلان

In his interview with "Petra" on Saturday, Khairy praised, on behalf of the Palestinian people and leadership, the King's assurances and statements affirming Jordan's support for the Palestinian people in restoring their just and legitimate rights.

The King's statements express his "consistent and principled" positions towards the Palestinian cause and their rights, according to the envoy.

The Palestinian people and their leadership highly value the King's "brotherly and strong" stances since assuming his constitutional powers more than twenty years ago, Khairy pointed out.

His Majesty defends the Palestinian cause, which occupies a priority on his agenda, and takes a "remarkable" place in all the King's meetings, contacts and speeches, he pointed out.

The King, he noted, works to achieve a just and comprehensive and lasting peace in the region to restore Palestinian people's rights.

The Palestinian envoy also valued His Majesty's affirmation to continue exerting all efforts to protect Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites, under the Hashemite custodianship.

The diplomat stressed that the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites preserves sanctities and their Islamic, Christian, Arab and Palestinian religious identity, in addition to protecting them against Judaizing attempts.

Referring to the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Palestinian relations, Khairy highlighted the joint keenness to enhance  ties and increase cooperation in all fields, lauding the many important Jordan's facilitations to the Palestinian people in various fields.
