The monthly average number of administrative detainees has decreased from 2,200 to 1,700, according to Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya.
Al-Faraya revealed the completion of modernization projects aimed at improving visa services, noting that airport congestion has been eliminated, the use of stamps and adhesive labels has been abolished, and visa fees can now be paid in advance. As a result, more than 1.2 million electronic visas have been issued as of December 1, 2025.

Speaking during a meeting with the Parliamentary Finance Committee to discuss the budget of the Interior Ministry and its affiliated departments on Sunday, Al-Faraya said the implementation of the tribal “Jalwa Regulation” continues in all relevant cases, with more than 6,000 people returned to their original places of residence.
He added that administrative governors received around 25,000 complaints up to December 1, 2025, all handled in ways that uphold public order and protect citizens’ rights.
The minister explained that steps have been taken to reduce administrative detentions, leading to the drop in monthly averages from 2,200 to 1,700—reflecting the ministry’s commitment to maintaining security and public order without resorting to unnecessary detention.
He continued: “The ministry has carried out several security campaigns, in cooperation with relevant authorities, to curb violations against water resources, within defined timelines.”
Al-Faraya emphasized that under the Administrative Formations System, the administrative governor is the first official responsible for overseeing public life in each governorate. Jordan is divided into 12 governorates, 55 districts, and 36 sub-districts, which requires providing strong administrative and security capacities.
