Jordan’s Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan, participated on Friday in the opening ceremony of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh, featuring athletes from member countries of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation.

Dr. Al-Adwan attended upon an official invitation from Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sports and President of the Federation. He highlighted the significance of the sporting event in fostering cooperation, promoting the values of brotherhood, positive competition, and peace, praising Saudi Arabia’s role in hosting this important event, which reflects the Kingdom’s dedication to sports.
During the opening, Dr. Al-Adwan met with several Arab youth and sports ministers to discuss avenues for regional youth cooperation. Among those he met were:
Egypt: Dr. Ashraf Sobhi
Syria: Mohammad Sameh
Yemen: Nayef Al-Bakri
Algeria: Walid Sadri
Tunisia: Sadok Mourali
Nigeria: Ayodele Olawande
Chad: Maidi Hamid Loni
He also met with the Jordanian delegation, which includes 39 athletes competing in taekwondo, wushu, jiu-jitsu, karate, muay Thai, weightlifting, e-sports, camel racing, para weightlifting, athletics, para athletics, fencing, equestrian, and boxing, wishing them success in the competitions.
Dr. Al-Adwan emphasized that Jordan’s participation provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen Islamic solidarity and enhance sports cooperation among participating nations.
