Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi held a phone call today with Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel, during which they discussed a number of bilateral issues in the context of joint efforts to enhance cooperation and deepen the bonds of friendship between the two countries.

The two ministers also reviewed developments in Gaza following the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement, stressing the need to implement the agreement, ensure the immediate and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip, and launch an effective political process to achieve a just peace based on the two-state solution.
They underlined the crucial role played by U.S. President Donald Trump in reaching the agreement and commended the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.
Safadi and Rangel also reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
