Gold prices in Jordan’s local market rose on Thursday, with the price of 21-karat gold, the most widely traded in the Kingdom, increasing by JOD 1.10 per gram compared with Wednesday’s prices.
According to the daily price list issued by the Jordanian General Syndicate of Owners of Jewelry and Goldsmiths Shops:
* 21-karat gold was priced at JOD 86.90 per gram for selling by jewelry shops, while the buy-back price stood at JOD 82.80 per gram.
* On Wednesday, the same category was priced at JOD 85.80 for selling and JOD 81.80 for buying.
Prices for other gold categories also increased:
* 24-karat gold: JOD 99.70 per gram, up from JOD 98.50.
* 18-karat gold: JOD 76.80 per gram, up from JOD 75.90.
The increase comes amid continued strength in global gold prices, which have recently climbed to their highest levels in several weeks as investors seek safe-haven assets.
