The Minister of Health, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badour, has directed the relocation of 41 rented health centers deemed unsuitable for medical service. The directive emphasizes finding new sites that meet the ministry’s standards for medical care and ensuring they are supported by adequate staffing levels.

This decision follows findings from technical follow-up teams established by Minister Al-Badour three months ago. These teams conducted unannounced field visits to assess medical and technical realities, monitor equipment shortages, and report on structural conditions. The goal is to bypass administrative delays and ensure the continuity of high-quality health services.
The field tours revealed that several existing centers do not meet approved standards for primary healthcare, whether in terms of construction, technical capacity, or adequate space. Consequently, the ministry will rent alternative buildings and perform maintenance on ministry-owned facilities.
Minister Al-Badour instructed health directors to define the specifications for the new buildings, focusing on infrastructure, safety requirements, and accessibility for patients. To date, the teams have inspected 252 sites and will continue their visits to all remaining centers. The Minister noted that this initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts of the government, led by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, to improve service environments.
