He explained in remarks to Ain FM radio that the exam had originally been planned to go digital this year, but certain circumstances led to postponing the implementation until next year.
Smeirat noted that examination halls and computer equipment had already been prepared for a digital format this year, but the rollout was delayed.
He added that the ministry is focused on improving the quality of services provided to citizens and accelerating the digitization of government services, while also enhancing services that have already been digitized. He emphasized efforts to reduce human intervention through the reengineering of procedures.
Smeirat said that procedures at the Greater Amman Municipality have already been reengineered, and work is underway to fully digitize its services due to their direct interaction with citizens. He added that other municipalities across the Kingdom, as well as the Department of Lands and Survey, will also undergo full digital transformation.
He confirmed that the digital ID is now fully operational and legally recognized as equivalent to the traditional ID after its approval by Parliament, noting that 500,000 digital IDs have been activated within four months.
He also stated that identification cards for persons with disabilities will be integrated into the “Sanad” application, with work currently underway to activate them. He added that most government institutions now prefer to provide their services through the app.
Smeirat highlighted the importance of digital learning systems, noting that government institutions are working on comprehensive digital education platforms to facilitate training programs and remote learning for employees.
