The ministry said that it is currently in the process of studying the deceased’s medical file to determine the cause of death, which occurred 10 minutes after the jab at the University of Jordan’s vaccination center, according to the university’s media and public relations unit.

The medical staff at the vaccination center performed all necessary first aid measures and tried to resuscitate the man after he collapsed at the center, according to the ministry.

The Ministry of Health noted in a statement that the 66-year-old “suffered from chronic diseases,” but added that the case is still being studied, and more details would be announced when the data is complete.

The official responsible for the vaccination campaign at the University of Jordan, Kefah Al-Jamaani, told Al-Ghad daily that the body of the deceased has been transferred to the coroner to determine the cause of death, and whether it was associated with the vaccine or was due to a separate health issue, noting that the university has no record of the man’s medical file, and cannot speak to his health condition prior to the vaccination.
