According to a statement by the ministry, the distribution included 70 containers for Ma’an Governorate, 70 containers for the Petra region, and an additional 20 containers for tourist areas in Barqash and Umm Al-Naml. This comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve waste management and maintain public cleanliness in environmentally and touristically significant sites.

As part of the same program, 50 hanging waste bins were also delivered to the Department of Antiquities, in preparation for their distribution across archaeological sites and areas, contributing to enhanced cleanliness and the preservation of the cultural and heritage value of these locations.

The Ministry of Environment emphasized that these steps fall within its continuous plan to support relevant entities with the necessary infrastructure for waste management and to curb negative practices associated with random dumping. It also noted that the distribution of containers and bins will continue during the coming phase of the executive program, in cooperation with partner organizations.
