Al-Zuhoor stated during a meeting of the Parliamentary Energy Committee on Sunday that the organization continuously monitors factories producing this type of heater as part of a regulatory plan adopted since the beginning of the year. This includes monitoring production lines and intensifying oversight of local markets at the start of the winter season.

She explained that teams from the organization collect samples from factories for testing at both the Standards and Metrology Organization and the Royal Scientific Society to ensure compliance with approved technical specifications before the heaters are released to local markets.

Al-Zuhoor emphasized that the investigation results will definitively determine whether these heaters caused the suffocation incidents. Samples have already been sent to the Royal Scientific Society for the necessary technical tests to confirm the safety of the heaters.

Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yaarub Al-Qudah reiterated that the government will not overlook the results of the investigation into the suffocation incidents caused by heater use, which led to fatalities.

Al-Qudah added during the Parliamentary Energy Committee meeting on Sunday that the government took immediate action by forming an investigative committee to determine the causes of the suffocation incidents clearly.

He also noted that the ministry has prohibited three local factories from selling heaters confirmed to have caused suffocation deaths and has suspended the production of the same type of heaters as a precautionary measure to protect public safety.
