The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) confirmed that it has prohibited three local heater manufacturers from selling heaters in the domestic market pending the results of technical tests being conducted by the Royal Scientific Society on samples of these products, following suffocation incidents and the deaths of several individuals. The quantities currently in the manufacturers’ possession have also been seized.اضافة اعلان

In a press statement, the organization said that, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate, it has so far seized more than 5,000 heaters of this type and sent several samples to the Royal Scientific Society for testing. It noted that these heaters have been available in the local market for years, are locally manufactured, and are not imported.

The organization added that products of this nature, due to their sensitivity, are subject to strict regulatory procedures before and after being placed on the local market to ensure public safety, stressing that there is zero tolerance for any violations of specifications, regardless of their nature.

It warned manufacturers of these heaters, as well as commercial outlets that still have quantities in stock, against selling them during this period, under penalty of legal accountability, and emphasized the need to comply with decisions issued by the competent authorities until the technical test results are released and any subsequent measures are taken as required. The organization also urged citizens to stop using these heaters if they have them in their possession until the test results are announced.
