The Southern Military Zone on Tuesday foiled an attempt to smuggle electronic control devices using a drone along its area of responsibility.
Border Guard units detected the drone, engaged it and brought it down inside Jordanian territory, seizing its cargo in coordination with the relevant security and military agencies.
The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal and investigative procedures.
The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army reaffirmed its continued efforts to counter smuggling and infiltration operations using all methods and means, while employing its full operational and intelligence capabilities to address such threats.
It also stressed the readiness of Border Guard units to confront any threat targeting the security and stability of the Kingdom.
