As part of his ongoing field tours to develop the healthcare sector, Minister of Health Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bdour conducted a field visit on Saturday evening to several hospitals in Aqaba and Ma’an governorates. His tour included Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Field Hospital in Aqaba, Ma’an Governmental Hospital, and Queen Rania Al Abdullah Hospital in Wadi Musa.

During the visit, Minister Al-Bdour stressed the Ministry’s commitment to advancing healthcare services provided to citizens, in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision of elevating the level of healthcare across the Kingdom.

In Aqaba, Al-Bdour announced the activation of neonatal and intensive care units at Sheikh Zayed Field Hospital and the contracting of a specialized anesthesiologist for this purpose. This aims to strengthen services for premature and newborn infants. He also inspected ongoing operations, toured several departments, and listened to a briefing on the main challenges facing the hospital as well as its future plans for improving medical services.

In Ma’an Governorate, the Minister directed the provision of new hospital beds to Ma’an Governmental Hospital to replace the old, worn-out ones, thereby enhancing the treatment environment.

At Queen Rania Al Abdullah Hospital in Wadi Musa, Al-Bdour announced support for the hospital with specialized medical staff to raise the efficiency of healthcare services and ensure comprehensive coverage of the growing medical needs in the region.

These tours come within the framework of the government’s program, led by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, to follow up on and study the situation on the ground. Their purpose is to enhance public services in general—particularly healthcare facilities—and to implement the Ministry’s policy of improving the level of healthcare services while providing a safe and advanced treatment environment for citizens in all governorates.
