Petra and the "Golden Triangle" Lead Demand
Al-Rifa’i noted that overnight programs in Petra were particularly popular, with 6,600 participants and 344 buses recorded in a single month. He added that the Northern Governorates and the Golden Triangle (Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba) continue to see increasing demand.
Furthermore, newly introduced destinations such as Iraq Al-Amir, Umm ar-Rasas, and Rihab received significant interest, reflecting the diversity of Jordan’s tourism offerings and their appeal to various segments of society.
Economic Impact and Local Support
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, "Urdun Janna" features more than 60 tourist destinations across the Kingdom. The program is a cornerstone of government efforts to revitalize the tourism sector and stimulate the economy by supporting local communities.
The program embodies a comprehensive approach to tourism recovery by involving all sector components—including travel agencies, transport companies, restaurants, hotels, guides, and handicraft shops—thereby expanding the economic impact and fostering local development throughout Jordan.
