Safadi had previously received a phone call from Minister al-Shibani on the 25th of last month, during which both ministers renewed their condemnation of the unjustified Iranian attacks on Jordanian territory and brotherly Arabian Gulf states.
Safadi and al-Shibani discussed the dangerous escalation in the region and its implications for regional and international security and stability. They explored ways to restore calm through active diplomacy to ensure regional security, stability, and respect for state sovereignty.
The two ministers emphasized the necessity of activating joint Arab action to face common challenges and protect Arab national security.
Furthermore, Safadi condemned the Israeli attack that targeted military infrastructure in southern Syria, describing it as a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a breach of international law and the 1974 Syrian-Israeli Disengagement Agreement.
Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's firm position in supporting the Syrian government's efforts to protect Syria’s security, stability, and sovereignty, while maintaining its territorial integrity and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
