Spanish newspaper El País reported that Spain has prevented U.S. aircraft and ships loaded with weapons and ammunition from passing through its territory en route to Israel.

This decision follows domestic criticism suggesting that banning arms supplies to Israel is ineffective as long as the U.S. military continues to use Spanish bases to transport military equipment to Israel.
Earlier, the King of Spain expressed his nation’s relentless condemnation of the brutal and unacceptable suffering of hundreds of thousands in Gaza. He praised Egypt’s mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire, secure the release of hostages, and fully resume humanitarian aid.
In remarks made during a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Spanish monarch emphasized Madrid’s support for initiatives like Gaza reconstruction plans, which are essential for restoring the lives and dignity of its residents, alongside the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
He noted that such efforts should form part of a viable Palestinian state, living in peace and security alongside Israel. “Even if this goal seems distant today, given current events and daily reports, we cannot cease striving to achieve it,” the King stated.
