Speaking to reporters at the White House on Wednesday during a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrotzki, Trump said: “Whatever his decision (Putin), we will either be pleased or displeased.”
He added, “If we are not satisfied, you will see things happen,” without providing further details, though he had previously threatened additional sanctions against Moscow.
President Putin, speaking to journalists in Beijing, China, said he is “ready to meet Zelensky, but the question is about the effectiveness of such a meeting.”
He added, “Zelensky’s powers have expired, and a meeting with him will not yield results,” while noting, “If Zelensky is willing, he can come to Moscow,” despite proposals from the United States and Kyiv’s allies to hold the meeting in a neutral location.
