Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense has raised the alert level in Khamis Mushait Governorate after activating the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies to warn residents of a potential threat.

The move came after Yemen's Houthi militia said on Tuesday that it had carried out an attack against an air base in southern Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi-led coalition reported that 73 civilians were injured in attacks targeting civilian and economic facilities in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran. The Saudi Ministry of Energy separately said energy facilities and infrastructure in the kingdom's south had also come under attack, triggering fires, temporarily halting some operations and leaving several citizens and residents injured.
Saudi authorities said they would take the necessary steps to defend the country's territory, while the coalition warned of a "dangerous escalation" and called for measures to deter the Houthis.
