In a statement published late last night on its official website, Canada’s Foreign Ministry expressed its horror over the Israeli army’s bombing of the medical complex, which resulted in the deaths of five journalists and a large number of civilians, including rescuers and health officials. The ministry affirmed that Israel is obligated to protect civilians in conflict zones, stressing that such attacks are unacceptable.
The Spanish government also condemned the Israeli bombardment of Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. Spain’s Foreign Ministry reiterated the country’s firm commitment to the right to access information, in reference to the killing of journalists in the hospital strike.
In Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Israel’s government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, “thirsty for blood,” continues its brutal attacks on Gaza in an attempt to destroy everything related to humanity.
Meanwhile, Ravina Shamdasani, spokesperson for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said in a statement that the killing of journalists in Gaza should shock the world into action, demanding accountability and justice.
World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, “While the people of Gaza are starving, their already limited access to healthcare is further restricted by repeated attacks,” calling for an immediate end to strikes on healthcare facilities.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini condemned what he described as the “shocking international inaction” regarding the war in Gaza, writing on X that the attack aims to silence the last remaining voices reporting on children dying silently amid famine.
Reporters Without Borders said Israel is deliberately targeting journalists and called on the UN Security Council to hold an emergency session to stop this “massacre.”
The Government Media Office in Gaza announced on Monday that the death toll of journalists since October 7, 2023, has risen to 246.
Israel is committing genocide in Gaza through killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and International Court of Justice orders to halt its actions.
The Israeli genocide has so far left 62,686 Palestinians martyred, 157,951 wounded—mostly children and women—over 9,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine that has killed 300 people.
