TEL AVIV — The United States has asked for clarification of Netanyahu’s comments when he said “I think Israel will, for an indefinite period, have the overall security responsibility because we have seen what happens when we don't have that security responsibility,” suggesting that Israel would manage Gaza’s security after the war last week in an interview with ABC News, an Israeli media source reported.اضافة اعلان

The demand for clarification, according to the media source, was first reported by the Kan public broadcaster and confirmed by a US official to Israeli media.

Meanwhile Friday, Netanyahu said that Israeli Occupation Forces will remain in control of the Gaza Strip after the current war ends, sharing that Israel will not rely on international forces to oversee security along the border.

He added, “When we don’t have that security responsibility, what we have is the eruption of Hamas terror on a scale that we couldn’t imagine,” he added.
