The Dubai Media Office stated in a press release on Sunday that relevant authorities clarified the sounds heard were the result of successful interception operations.
The Office also announced that Dubai Civil Defense teams successfully controlled a minor fire on the exterior facade of the Burj Al Arab hotel with no injuries reported. It explained that the incident was caused by falling debris from an intercepted drone.
In a related context, authorities in Abu Dhabi announced they handled an incident involving falling drone debris—following an air defense interception—on the facade of one of the Etihad Towers buildings. The incident resulted in minor injuries to a woman and her child, as well as minor material damage.
