The semi-official Tasnim News Agency clarified that social media reports claiming that a commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy was targeted in the blast are completely false.
State television reported that the explosion affected an eight-story building, destroying two floors and damaging several nearby vehicles and shops along Moallem Avenue in the southern city.
Rescue and firefighting teams were on site providing assistance.
Footage broadcast by state TV showed the building’s façade partially destroyed, exposing parts of the interior, with debris scattered across the area.
Other Iranian media outlets reported similar details, without providing information on the cause of the incident.
