The Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem has announced a new plan aimed at expanding a settlement in the southern part of the holy city.
According to the Israeli daily Israel Hayom, published Tuesday, the municipality plans to expand the “Nof Zion” settlement, which is located in the town of Jabal al-Mukabber, south of Jerusalem. The report confirmed that the goal of the expansion is to implement an unprecedented Judaization plan in the vicinity of “Nof Zion,” targeting an area overlooking Al-Aqsa Mosque.
It is worth noting that these expansion plans coincide with an aggressive demolition campaign in Jabal al-Mukabber, where the settlement is located. Over the past few weeks, Israeli occupation authorities have issued dozens of demolition orders and demolished numerous properties in the area.
