The Israeli army confirmed on Wednesday that the war in Lebanon is ongoing and that the ceasefire agreement announced between Washington and Iran late Tuesday night does not include its northern neighbor.

In an official statement, the military declared: "The battle in Lebanon continues, and the ceasefire status does not cover Lebanon."
On Wednesday, the Israeli army issued evacuation orders for residents of a specific building in the city of Tyre and for those living south of the Zahrani River, in preparation for imminent strikes.
Context of the US-Iran Truce
The United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire just one hour before the expiration of an ultimatum issued by Donald Trump, which threatened the destruction of the Iranian Republic. Peace talks are scheduled to begin in Islamabad this Friday.
Following more than five weeks of reciprocal strikes involving Israel, the U.S., and Iran, Tehran announced early Wednesday that negotiations with Washington would commence Friday in Pakistan. Pakistan has served as a primary mediator in this conflict, which broke out on February 28, 2026.
