Jordan Welcomes Ceasefire Announcement Between the United States and Iran
Jordan on Wednesday welcomed the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran had reached a ceasefire agreement, describing it as a positive step toward ending tensions and the dangerous escalation in the region.اضافة اعلان

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs affirmed Jordan’s support for efforts led by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to reach a lasting agreement that addresses all issues that have destabilized security and stability in the region over past decades.

The ministry stressed the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring freedom of international navigation without restrictions in accordance with international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982.

It also emphasized the need for the ceasefire to lead to comprehensive and sustainable de-escalation that guarantees an end to violations and practices that undermine the sovereignty, security, and stability of states, threaten the safety of their citizens, and enhance regional security and stability.
