Lebanon is working to form a delegation to negotiate with Israel to end the war between the state and Hezbollah, an official source reported on Saturday, amid a French call for such talks.

The source stated, "Negotiations are on the table, and preparations are underway to form the delegation. However, there is no set agenda yet, and neither the timing nor the location—potentially between Paris and Cyprus—has been determined. All matters remain under review."
The source added, "President [Joseph Aoun's] negotiation initiative is on the table and has been welcomed by Europe and many other countries. However, we also need an Israeli commitment regarding a truce or a ceasefire."
French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday called on Israel to hold "direct talks" with Beirut, expressing his readiness to facilitate and host them.
