The Department of Statistics issued its monthly report for 2026 on the general agricultural producer price index, recording a 3.2% increase in producer prices for 2026 compared to 2025. It also showed a 3.6% increase in February 2026 compared to the same month in 2025, and a sharp 23.8% rise compared to the previous month of the same year.اضافة اعلان

Accordingly, the cumulative agricultural producer price index for 2026 reached 101.3, compared to 98.2 for the same period in 2025. The index for February 2026 stood at 112.1, compared to 108.3 for the same month in 2025, and 90.6 compared to January of the same year.

Comparing the cumulative index for 2026 with 2025, prices increased for several crops representing 23.1% of relative importance, most notably tomatoes by 173.0%, zucchini by 56.4%, and colored sweet peppers by 10.3%. Meanwhile, prices declined for crops representing 76.9% of relative importance, including potatoes by 25.8%, green beans by 21.8%, and hot peppers by 12.8%.

The increase in the February 2026 index compared to the same month in 2025 is attributed to higher prices for crops representing 32.9% of relative importance, particularly tomatoes by 319.1%, lemons by 168.9%, and zucchini by 52.5%. On the other hand, prices declined for crops representing 67.1% of relative importance, most notably white cabbage by 65.4%, cauliflower by 38.3%, and dates by 32.5%.

Comparing February 2026 with the previous month, prices rose for crops representing 33.1% of relative importance, including green beans by 54.5%, tomatoes by 40.9%, and green corn by 22.3%. Meanwhile, prices declined for crops representing 66.9% of relative importance, most notably cauliflower by 57.0%, grape leaves by 30.9%, and green fava beans by 21.3%.
