Exports by the Amman Chamber of Industry surpassed JD 5 billion during the first eight months of 2026, reaching JD 5.263 billion, compared with JD 4.822 billion during the same period last year, an increase of 9.2%, according to chamber statistics.

The data showed geographical expansion in exports, with Jordanian industrial products reaching new and non-traditional markets across several African, European and non-Arab Asian countries.
Most industrial sectors recorded export growth during the period, except for the leather and garments sector and the engineering, electrical and information technology sector, whose exports declined by 0.3% and 9.4%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies sector and the chemical and cosmetics sector recorded the strongest export growth, rising by 41.1% and 28.6%, respectively.
According to the statistics, four Arab and foreign markets — India, Iraq, the United States and Saudi Arabia — accounted for more than half of the chamber’s exports during the period, with a combined value of JD 2.750 billion.
Exports to India rose by 1.8% during the first eight months of 2026, reaching JD 779 million, compared with JD 765 million during the same period last year, making India the largest destination for Amman Chamber exports.
Exports to Iraq increased by 26.2% to approximately JD 769 million, compared with JD 609 million during the same period last year.
Exports to Saudi Arabia also rose by 3.8%, reaching JD 577 million, compared with JD 555 million in the same period of 2025.
In contrast, exports to the United States fell by 23.4% to JD 625 million, compared with JD 816 million during the same period last year.
The statistics also showed a 16.4% increase in exports to Syria, reaching approximately JD 266 million, compared with JD 228 million in the same period of 2025.
Exports to Palestine rose by 20% to JD 134 million, compared with JD 111 million during the same period last year.
The most notable increase was recorded in exports to China, which surged by 144.4% to approximately JD 204 million, compared with JD 83 million during the same period last year.
The chamber also recorded higher exports to a number of Arab and foreign markets across different regions, including Armenia, Spain, Australia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Scotland, Sudan, Morocco, Somalia, Greece and Belgium, in addition to other international markets.
By geographical distribution, Arab countries ranked first with exports worth JD 2.669 billion, followed by non-Arab Asian countries at JD 1.250 billion and North American countries at approximately JD 666 million.
Exports to European Union countries amounted to approximately JD 337 million, while exports to non-EU European countries reached JD 186 million. Exports to African countries stood at JD 69 million, those to South American countries at approximately JD 37 million, and exports to other markets at JD 49 million.
According to monthly statistics based on certificates of origin, the chamber’s exports were distributed across several sectors. Mining industries accounted for JD 1.198 billion, followed by chemicals and cosmetics at JD 1.106 billion and food, agricultural and livestock industries at JD 714 million.
Exports by the engineering, electrical and information technology sectors amounted to JD 687 million, while medical and pharmaceutical supplies reached approximately JD 511 million and leather and garments JD 427 million.
The remaining exports included packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies at JD 248 million, plastics and rubber at JD 224 million, construction industries at JD 131 million, and wood and furniture industries at JD 16 million.
Established in 1962, the Amman Chamber of Industry currently has approximately 8,600 industrial establishments as members, employing around 159,000 workers, with total capital of approximately JD 5 billion.
