ICJ Set to Rule on Israeli Blockade of Gaza Today
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is expected to issue its ruling on Wednesday regarding the blockade imposed by Israel on humanitarian aid bound for the Gaza Strip in recent months.اضافة اعلان

The ruling, delivered by the UN’s highest judicial body, will assess Israeli attacks targeting UN facilities and personnel in Gaza.

Although the decision will be an advisory legal opinion and therefore non-binding, it carries significant international weight and may increase pressure on Israel to cooperate with the UN and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the territory.

This will be the third ruling by the ICJ on Israeli practices since the outbreak of the Gaza war on 7 October 2023. Previously, in July, the court ruled the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories illegal, and earlier it had issued an order requiring Israel to take all measures to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza.

The advisory opinion was requested by the UN General Assembly and will also examine Israel’s compliance with cooperation with UNRWA in supporting Palestinian refugees.
