Controversy has escalated in Iran regarding the ongoing negotiations with the United States, as media outlets circulate potential terms of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two sides.

On Saturday, conservative Iranian lawmaker Mahmoud Nabavian raised questions about several clauses of the memorandum in a post on the American platform "X," asking, "Does this text serve our national interests?"

Nabavian pointed out that the MoU includes terms such as the immediate, unrestricted, and free reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and a reduction in uranium enrichment, while ambiguity remains regarding the lifting of sanctions on Iran, the release of its frozen assets, and its potential access to a $300 billion funding pool.

On Saturday, a number of Iranians gathered in Avicenna (Ibn Sina) Square in central Tehran to protest the negotiations with the United States. Participants chanted slogans against Parliament Speaker and head of the negotiating body Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, as well as Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

On Friday, Araghchi stated that there is a possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding with the United States in the "digital sphere" within the next few days.
