The Pakistani Ministry of Information said on Monday that 28 people were killed in airstrikes targeting three locations inside Afghanistan.
Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the Pakistani airstrikes targeted civilian areas in the eastern Afghan provinces of Kunar and Paktika. Pakistani aircraft struck a house and a shop in Paktika, according to Reuters.

The strikes came two days after an attack on a police facility in northwestern Pakistan, raising concerns that fighting could erupt again between the two neighboring countries, which experienced their worst conflict in years last February.
The attack, carried out by militants using explosives and firearms against a police headquarters in Kohat, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killed at least 31 people, including 16 police officers, and injured more than 100 others.
The Pakistani military had previously announced that 10 militants were killed during security operations conducted from Tuesday through Thursday in the province.
Pakistan accuses what it describes as “militant groups” based in Afghanistan of supporting the attacks. Kabul’s Taliban-led government, however, denies any Afghan involvement.
The accusations have triggered a sharp dispute and armed clashes between the neighboring countries. Pakistan has carried out deadly airstrikes, saying they targeted militants on Afghan territory.
