The department said the latest measures target eight entities based in Canada.

On Wednesday, the US Treasury Department imposed additional sanctions on companies and individuals in India and Türkiye over their alleged ties to Iran, warning that it would continue pursuing anyone providing support to the Iranian government.

The sanctions are part of the Trump administration’s “Economic Fury” campaign, which aims to prevent Iran from selling oil to finance its war with the United States.
