Hamas added in a statement that the movement, along with the Palestinian factions and the mediators (Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey), held numerous meetings in Cairo, which culminated in the unified national position presented yesterday.
The movement pointed out that the Palestinian factions dealt with the roadmap regarding the implementation of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's plan with "high responsibility and positivity." It emphasized the necessity of implementing the first phase in full detail, particularly regarding the humanitarian protocol and halting all forms of aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas also stressed the need for full commitment to what was stated in the roadmap concerning the entry of the administrative committee, the complete Israeli withdrawal from the Strip, and reconstruction, leading to the realization of the Palestinian people's goals of establishing their state and obtaining their right to self-determination.
The Hamas delegation in Cairo is scheduled to continue its meetings with the mediators and factions to move forward with implementing what is agreed upon.
Last month, Mladenov presented a 15-point UN roadmap to implement the war termination agreement, which includes the disarmament of Hamas and the rest of the resistance factions. This takes place within a framework based on the principle of reciprocity, where every action taken by one party is linked to a corresponding action by the other.
Mladenov stated that five core principles will mark the beginning of the roadmap. This starts with obligating all parties to fully implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the comprehensive peace plan. Reaffirming this direction, the second principle requires the completion of all ceasefire obligations, including the opening of crossings, the implementation of the Sharm El-Sheikh humanitarian protocol, and the provision of fuel.
