Katz added that the Israeli government is adopting a policy to keep the Israeli army in what he described as "security zones" in Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip indefinitely, with the aim of protecting Israeli borders and settlements.

He pointed out that this policy is based on the lessons Israel learned from the October 7 attacks, emphasizing Israel's refusal to withdraw from Lebanon "despite all current and future pressures."

Katz explained that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conveyed this stance to U.S. President Donald Trump and several senior U.S. officials, while he, in turn, informed U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth of the Israeli position during talks held between the two sides.
