TEL AVIV — The Hebrew newspaper "Israel Today" revealed on Monday morning an increase in the cost and time of transporting goods to Israel due to the blockade imposed by the Houthis on ships heading towards Israeli ports in the Red Sea.اضافة اعلان

According to the newspaper, it takes two weeks for a ship to reach from the port of Dubai to the port of Ashdod. Due to the Houthi threat, major shipping companies have announced redirecting their vessel traffic around Africa, and this rerouting, according to estimates, will extend the journey by a month, Khaberni reported.

On Monday, The Guardian reported that the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, will announce the establishment of a special maritime protection force for the Red Sea.

This comes amid the escalating military operations by the Houthi group in Yemen towards ships sailing in the Red Sea destined for Israeli occupation.

The Guardian explained in its report that the force to be formed by the United States to protect the Red Sea will be named "Guardian of Prosperity."

The newspaper clarified that the American Red Sea protection force will work to secure shipping, the Bab el Mandeb Strait, and ships passing through it from Houthi threats.
