AMMAN — President of Syria Bashar Al-Assad and his wife Asma al-Assad will be visiting China on Thursday, September 21 in response to an official invitation from the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping. Presidents Assad and Xi will be holding a Syria-China summit, Al-Ghad News reported. As a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, China has repeatedly vetoed resolutions on Syria, including several to extend cross-border aid operations into areas outside the Syrian government's control, according to Reuters.
