According to a press release from the Lebanese Presidency, Aoun and Berri discussed the Israeli escalation and the targeting of bridges connecting the South to other Lebanese regions, noting the potential repercussions of such actions.

The two leaders also addressed the difficult social and humanitarian conditions resulting from the displacement of approximately one million citizens from southern towns and villages that have been subjected to shelling and destruction. Aoun and Berri positively assessed the popular embrace of the displaced and the ongoing follow-up provided by official administrations and humanitarian and social agencies.

Furthermore, Aoun and Berri emphasized the necessity of national unity and solidarity among Lebanese during these critical circumstances. They stressed the importance of preserving civil peace and urged citizens not to be swayed by rumors spread by parties that do not wish Lebanon well. This is particularly vital given the national consensus rejecting past harsh experiences and, most notably, the refusal to return to civil war.

Following the meeting, when asked about the nature of the discussion, the Speaker of Parliament indicated that they had conducted a comprehensive assessment of the situation from various perspectives.
